Meet your wedding celebrant

Q: WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT BEING A CELEBRANT?

A: I’m the Executive Producer of Triple M Breakfast with Marto and Margaux on Triple M Brisbane. I’m an experienced MC with over ten years’ experience hosting all types of events from corporate race days, to sportsmen’s lunches, Christmas Carols, charity nights and everything in between.

If you’ve attended a concert or show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in the last ten years and heard a guy on the mic saying “Ladies and Gentlemen please have your tickets ready and make your way to your allocated door, tonight’s show will be commencing shortly,” that’s me.

I’m also a husband and father of two…and the world’s biggest Bronco fan!

Q:  WHY DID YOU BECOME A CELEBRANT?
A: A friend of mine was struggling to find a celebrant that could deliver the type of ceremony that he was after. He and his fiancé wanted someone light hearted and fun, someone with a sense of humour, but who could also shift gears and deliver something heartfelt and sincere. I had already agreed to MC his wedding and after a couple of beers I told him that I’d become a celebrant and do the ceremony for him as well. After that one ceremony I was hooked, it really is the most rewarding job in the world.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE AS A CELEBRANT?
A: I love getting the chance to bring a couple’s love story to life. Once I’ve met with a couple and we’ve discussed what they’d like in their ceremony I leave them with a short questionnaire about their relationship. I use their answers to tailor a script that’s unique to them. A script that is full of fun and laughter, one that is engaging and most importantly memorable.

The rush you get before a ceremony is only topped by the thrill you get when a couple thank you for being a part of their special day. It’s honestly the best feeling.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR VALUES?

A:Honesty, loyalty and integrity. At the end of the day I want all my couples to look back on their wedding day and the process and say “gee that Snowy bloke did a bloody top job as our celebrant.”
